Anne Campbell was first elected as San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. As County Superintendent, one of her primary responsibilities is ensuring the financial and academic stability of San Mateo County’s 23 school districts who serve nearly 95,000 K-12 students. Prior to her role as County Superintendent, Ms. Campbell served as Superintendent of the Portola Valley School District and the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. She has also served as a middle school principal, counselor, and teacher. Superintendent Campbell’s priorities include closing the Achievement Gap, expanding access to quality early care and education, and creating 21st century schools for 21st century students.
